Your Most Powerful
In the past couple of years, we were being challenged from the outside to weaken our presence and not encourage our clients to be their best and most powerful online. We started getting pressure to hide our talents and mute our own uniqueness as well as those of the people we work with. The entire experience had me questioning our approach to marketing and online media. Paul and I had multiple conversations about this pressure to hide. The idea was, “Do not show power. Do not show strength. Do not show what makes you special in what you do, but instead, mute yourself. Stand down.” Because of this, I took a step back and told Paul, I cannot in good confidence represent people online or encourage them to be powerful, if it brings harm to our/their door. I needed to reevaluate and see where I stand. I needed to ask the questions, “What is really going on here and what is my position on this? What do I really believe?”
We started Groundwork Promotions from a position of personal power. There is no question about what we wanted, when we started this company. It was to create incredible media for people. We wanted to encourage people to believe in their own potential and help them bring it out. We did not want to represent a client with partial power and half-strength showing. We do not want to hide our client’s greatest qualities, strongest talents, or mute their uniqueness. We want their power to show, and we want them to find out in the process, they are even more powerful than they realize. This was how we began and our views had not changed. As a matter of fact, they have become stronger. We believe that when the opposition wants you to hide, you come out more skilled and brilliant than before. When people want you to stay silent, you make sure you speak more eloquently and forceful than before. There is no reason to hide brilliance. It does not make sense, to pay us for marketing, promotions and media creation, if we are going to suppress your potential and make you less powerful than you are.
