I did the best I could. I gave it everything I had. I did not compromise.
I had the most serious trial of my life these past 3 years. I cannot even put most of it into words. I wouldn’t know what to say. I often felt like I was in a chokehold that would not stop. At times, I thought I was a goner, but I stayed the course and I believed “I would terrorize everyone if I found my way out.” I knew that I could win, and “I was doing the best I could” and “I was not compromising.” I often caught myself thinking about our clients and people in general, and how many of them are going through trials we do not even know about. How many people around us have mental illness, physical illness, or have lost a loved one. How many people are struggling to pay their bills, keep their business going, or in the middle of a break-up or divorce. There are so many challenges for human beings that cause so much pain, and yet we have to get up and find ways to face the world and keep our families taken care of.
So every day I got up, and I fought to keep my air passages undamaged, trying to get the chokehold released, and when the day was over, I tried to get some rest to start all over again the next day, hoping eventually I would be free. Groundwork Promotions really doesn’t mean much to people when they are in the greatest challenges of their lives. As a matter of fact, marketing and promotions means very little when you feel at the end of your rope. HOWEVER, I can speak from experience that when I was as the scariest points of my situation, the work we did inspired me. I felt power from the photos, from the videos, from the work Paul was doing when I was not able to be fully present day-to-day. The man sent me videos sometimes that just re-aligned me, broke me out of myself, and sent me into hysterics. I told Paul last night, several times I would be ready to throw in the towel, and I would sit down and write a blog, I would continue working on the website, or look at the photos he was sending and I would lose myself in them. I forgot about pain, suffering, any years lost to the problem, and just be present in the moment and feel joy, elation, and excitement for the future. I felt potential.

So what good is marketing, promotions and media creation if you are going through stressful life experiences? Why would it even be beneficial for you to make time for media creation? Because Self-Creating means you create the reality you want, and if your reality is kicking your butt, then create a different one. You can change your life, change your business, change your situation, and change your future with media. You can change your mindset with creation. And when it turns out breathtaking, use it to promote what you do, who you are, and what you love and let that energize you and get you into a more stable and successful place in your life. Let it show you the potential of what is possible. Break out of the chokehold.
