The foundation of Groundwork Promotions was designed on the premise that “We create ourselves through outward expression.” Outward expression is key in Self-Creation. What you create, creates you. There is a feedback loop in promotions, that keeps you changing and evolving and becoming. You create words, images, pictures, videos, websites and you share them with the public. But you also look at them yourself. You read and listen to them yourself. You get to see yourself, see what you do, see what you have created, and continue thinking about it, being changed by it, being altered by it.
I have seen people create media online professionally, and then it is done. That’s it, they move on. They cease to continue growing from it. They do not recognize the value of it being there, for them as much as their customers or audience. Self-Creation is about using the promotions process for self-knowledge and awareness. It is about having a conversation with ourselves, using multimedia. It is about expressing outwardly to the world, what matters most, and then letting that alter your point of view or strengthen your view of who you are, what you do, and what you have created. It is about creating yourself, and creating your future, using online media.
