It is so beneficial to have office space when you are trying to start out as a business or when you own your own company. Many people have home offices, and that can help as well, giving you a private space to do your work and store your equipment and belongings. Paul and I had access to an incredible coworking space downtown for years when we started out. We had an office and it was a place filled with ambitious people, who were all trying to grow their own professional lives. It was always stocked with drinks and snacks, and places to store your own food. It had board rooms, work spaces, outside balconies, and places to lounge and meditate. I was so sorry to see it leave. It was right in the heart of downtown Tucson.
You do not realize how wonderful things are until they are gone. I do not have an office right now and I do not have office equipment or technology set up. It’s been almost 2 years since I’ve logged into my laptop or desktop. I work mostly off a smart phone. So Connect Coworking was a professional oasis downtown, and I miss having that access. I also miss the feel of downtown life.
