I have been using the internet and the web now for most of my life. My husband introduced me to the internet (and the computer) in college and then Paul, my best friend and business partner, introduced me to social media around 2005. What I have noticed the entire time, even before I became professionally involved, is self-expression online is not always pleasant. The online world is not kind, and as the internet grows and more people become involved, more dangers become prevalent.
As a company, Groundwork Promotions wants safety as well as self-expression and success for our clients. We want you to speak about yourself and your business or organization, and we want you protected. In the past several years, I was able to personally and directly experience life online without protection. I suffered a great deal because of adversarial relationships and I got to see how dangerous the internet can be, if we are not allowed to protect ourselves. It was a truly painful process and I have not yet recovered from the pain.
Paul and I were talking a few days ago about the idea of “magic” in promotions. He mentioned the words mystical magic with me, and I liked the idea. It captures how I have and how I continue to experience communication and creative expression online. Ideally, I want all of our clients to have this experience of mystical magic. It’s where you get to be completely in the process, without worry or fear, and just speak. You get to share your ideas, you get to see what they look like and feel like, you get to create with them, and then you get to share them and guide your business, your organization, your employees and networks with them. This is a truly exciting process and it elevates you and completely transforms your professional life.
As I dive deeper into the Self-Creation Process, I want to know how to create and maintain this experience of mystical magic. Where we feel the power involved and can be elevated by it, and maintain that elevation. Where we minimize the fears and dangers associated with being in the public domain, and find ways to protect ourselves, our business, our networks, our ideas and creations.
