We have had some of the best times in Tucson on University Ave. I got to know all the places along that strip during an 8-year period. We would go to Starbucks in the morning, either driving or riding our bikes. We had many coffees there in the mornings before work. I would often wait for my husband at No Anchovies after he got off work, and I would be having a beer and editing videos, or writing online. It was my favorite office away from home. We had business meetings there, as well as at Gentle Ben’s. Frog & Firkin was another place where I edited videos, wrote, and had a drink. All these places also have wonderful outdoor patios for watching Football, Basketball, Soccer, and whatever sport you like. We would always sit on the patios, no matter what the weather and if it was cold, I would bundle up, turn on the heater, and just feel elation. Even if I was working and did not watch the games, the audio made me feel so comforted. I love hearing the commentators on the loud speakers.

A business meeting at No Anchovies.
We have spent Super Bowl at No Anchovies, or March Madness at Frog & Firkin, or Thursday Night Football at Gentle Ben’s. I was in heaven every time.

When Paul left for San Diego, I felt a piece of me leave with him. I had never had such a close friend before, outside my marriage. He and I spoke and texted a great deal (and we still do) but meeting in person was such a treat. I have been offline for a few years and not able to work with him via the internet, but that is in the process of changing now. I am working with him to set up and align ourselves, and coordinate software and establish processes of working together again and communicating about work most efficiently. Since the pandemic, we have not visited University Ave. as often but when Paul comes back to town, we may have to have a business meeting there for old time’s sake.
