Continuation of Training With World-Class Athletes
When we first met Boogey and Geo Martinez, they were teaching a Friday evening class together in San Diego. And although just a handful of students were tapped in at the time, it was clear they were something special. As the fastest students to be awarded their black belts under Master Eddie Bravo, their passion and love for creating on the mats has inspired a whole world of jiu jitsu practitioners. In watching them drill, roll, and teach, each with their own gym with Bill & Suzanne Crawford, it’s not hard to imagine how they continue to excel at the top of their game AND bring along all their students to that next level. As they say, “drillers make killers.” And they have been killing it ever since stepping onto the mats from the breakdance world.

“I come from a background of breakdancing, so the way that I teach is a little bit different, it’s more of a body movement, it’s more of a flow, instead of kind of a robotic-repetition. We know how to push the flowiness of jiu-jitsu and make it fun and make it artistic at the same time. And definitely you could push that into the competitive scene.”
