“Seedlings, Stories of Relationships, is about my love affair with words.”
-Ethel Lee Miller, Author
I met Ethel Lee Miller after contacting her to attend one of her writing workshops. We ended up hitting it off and started meeting and writing together weekly. I had wanted to write and self-publish since around 2008, and I had been learning technology, the internet, web design and social media to help me learn the tools to be able to publish and promote my own work. Paul and I had also been learning documentary-style video and photography, and this was before we moved to Tucson in 2011.
We founded Groundwork Promotions in 2013 and ended up helping Ethel promote her first book, Seedlings. It was a memoir, or as she describes, a “garden of relationship stories.” We had just started learning media creation for promotions when I met her, so we had a good time creating her book trailer and accompanying videos. I was excited to learn how to write, self-publish, and promote my own work online and as I write this blog post tonight, I find myself getting excited again because since she and I met in 2012, my skills are much greater with marketing and media creation, and I am starting to write seriously again. I even started a company for self-publishing.

I have not seen Ethel is over 2 years. The last time I spoke with her, she was sharing a story in downtown Tucson for Odyssey Storytelling. She is a very gifted speaker and storyteller and I took her some flowers that night, since her story marked a very momentous occasion. She has accomplished a great deal over the past several years. She is a beautiful woman and person, and an inspiration for anyone who knows her story.

“Sharing this of myself in stories is kind of like my pay it forward. I feel people can learn when they hear stories about someone who went through exactly the same thing that they did.” -Ethel Lee Miller, Author
